On Wednesday, September 15, the Outreach Center is presenting a class in how to make felted garments.
Creating and working with felt is a unique skill. In this beginner’s class Sarah will start you out making felted coasters.
You will use carded wool, and by learning how to layer it and rub it with soap and water – the result will be awesome one of a kind coasters.
This same technique can be used to make slippers, mittens, scarfs, and many other garments!
Think of the one-of-a-kind gifts you can give everyone on your list this Christmas!
Interestingly, feltmaking is still practiced by nomadic peoples such as the Mongols in Central Asia, where felt rugs, tents, and clothing are regularly made.
This class starts at 2pm.
